Cypress Net Seminar to Help Manufacturers Easily and Affordably Design 2.4 GHz Wireless Technology Into Their Commercial and Industrial Applications (13/2/2004)

Presentation to be Held on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. PDT

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) -- the industry leader in USB -- today announced that it will host a one-hour net seminar entitled "WirelessUSB(TM) LR -- The 2.4 GHz Way to Bring Affordability, Flexibility and Range into Your Commercial or Industrial Design." This seminar, to be held February 18th at 9:00 a.m. PDT, will focus on design issues associated with building wireless systems for commercial and industrial applications extending up to 50 meters -- including building and home automation, industrial control, utility metering, transportation, paging systems and presentation equipment. Presenters will include Paul Beard, Cypress's wireless chief technology officer, and product marketing manager Carl Brasek.

RF considerations such as range, temperature, latency, power, and co-existence with other 2.4 GHz technologies are equally important for wireless applications; current RF approaches involve serious tradeoffs between these factors. Cypress's WirelessUSB technology integrates all of these attributes into an easy-to-use, low-cost solution. In this net seminar we will explain how WirelessUSB technology provides ideal wireless connectivity for a variety of long-range, multipoint-to-point applications, including building and home automation, industrial control, utility metering, transportation, paging systems and presentation equipment.
