t-ORB's Remote Life Makes its 'Mark' with CEA (2/2/2004)
The Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) Mark
of Excellence Award recognizes the best. In CEA's category of Whole
House-Automation System, t-ORB is ecstatic about being selected
as a Mark of Excellence finalist.
t-ORB's finalist standing for Remote Life
was announced at the 2004 International CES in Las Vegas. "The world's
authority on electronics has recognized t-ORB as a leader in the
industry, which takes them to a whole new level," exclaimed David
Dietrich, President and CEO of t-ORB. As a finalist, t-ORB gains
extensive exposure throughout the global electronics industry. The
award winners will be honored at the Mark of Excellence Award banquet
at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday, March
10, 2004.
Remote Life's selection in the Whole House-Automation
System category was based on home control and networking functions,
as well as its ease of subsystem integration. Remote Life provides
home control by controlling lights and appliances with a TV remote,
dimmer switch, keypad or the Internet. As for networking functions,
Remote Life extends beyond the TV remote to cell phones and computers
so that homeowners have control of their house from anywhere! Remote
Life's accessibility from anywhere makes it easier for homeowners
to manage and control their home and provides homeowners with additional
family security. Integrating cameras, motion sensors and electrical
devices, Remote Life's easy-to-use Web interface gives homeowners
the power to turn lights and appliances on or off, shut garage doors,
let the kids into the house without leaving work and even notify
parents of children arriving home from school via e-mail pictures.
In addition, Remote Life automatically notifies the owner of events
via e-mail, text messaging and/or triggered device responses.
