InFocus Innovation Enables New ERA of RPTV (21/1/2004)

Ground-breaking Engine Technology from InFocus Drives Thomson's Thin, Light, and Wall-Mountable 50", 61" and 70" Rear Projection Televisions

InFocus(r) (Nasdaq: INFS), the worldwide leader in digital projection and services, today announced that Thomson, a global leader in the manufacturing and marketing of color televisions and other home entertainment products and services, will integrate the new InFocus Engine solution in its new 50", 61" and 70" rear projection television (RPTV). The InFocus Engine enables a revolutionary new category in ultra-thin RPTV that is thin and light enough to mount on the wall.

"We are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with Thomson, and that they have chosen our ground-breaking InFocus Engine to power their new line of RCA Scenium branded RPTVs," said Scott Hix, Senior Vice President & General Manager The Americas Business Unit at InFocus Corp. "Our innovative technology, combined with Thomson's brand leadership will offer consumers an additional home entertainment choice in large- format thin display."

"As a leading manufacturer of televisions we depend on constant product innovation in order to offer our customers the biggest, brightest and most affordable televisions," said Gary Hubbard, Director Worldwide Product Planning at Thomson. "InFocus provides cutting-edge, innovative technology that will enable us to create new categories in home entertainment."

The InFocus Engine creates a new category in 'thin.' The InFocus Engine integrates proprietary, patent-pending engine and screen technology with a micro display device currently utilizing Texas Instruments' award-winning DLP technology.
