ELAN Showcases Innovative O Series All-Weather Outdoor Speakers at CES 2004 (14/1/2004)

Newest Additions to O Series Line Represent ELAN's Best-sounding Outdoor Speakers Ever

ELAN(tm) Home Systems today announced that the company will showcase an entire new line up of its renowned O Series Outdoor Speakers at the 2004 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

"Featuring superior design and sound, ELAN raises the bar to new heights for weatherproof outdoor speakers with the introduction of five new OE and OM models. Available in 5.25" and 6.50" two-way versions, the new speakers feature state-of-the-art, cabinet design, with structurally reinforced ribbing that utilizes high-density composite materials. Additionally, the driver compliment, crossover network and ports have been customized for each model, resulting in well balanced, highly accurate acoustic performances with incredible bass for their sizes," said Bob Farinelli, President and Chief Technical Officer of ELAN Home Systems.

OE models are offered as entry-level versions, while the OMs represent the step-up products in the new line. By offering two different levels and a selection of sizes, ELAN Dealers have the flexibility to provide their clients with solutions that fit their individual lifestyles and budgets.

ELAN O Series Speakers boast sturdy, all-weather design and performance that is sure to exceed expectations for any outdoor application. Delivering deep, clean bass that compliments the accurate "highs and warm mids," the speakers are designed to withstand even the harshest weather conditions and provide years of outdoor (and indoor) listening pleasure for ELAN customers.

"ELAN's O Series Outdoor speakers were developed using the most advanced technology and durable materials available," said Mr. Farinelli. "The composite woofer contains a high percentage of Mica which increases stiffness, reduces modal resonances, and offers the added benefit of keeping the cone stable under temperature extremes. In addition, oversized magnets increase power handling, and while they pose in a remarkably small footprint, these speakers have heavy, reinforced cabinet walls for premium acoustic performance. Additionally, a silk dome tweeter provides a very smooth yet accurate high-end response as compared to the Mylar or PEI materials used by many of the competitors. Our use of these carefully selected materials has resulted in the very best outdoor sound quality available for our Dealers and Customers."

ELAN O Series Outdoor Speakers Key Features Include:

* Big Sound with smaller-than-ever profile

* Variety of sizes, design offerings, and 2 color choices

* Premium esthetics and sound performance

* Weather-resistant construction to withstand the most extreme conditions

* Custom swivel-mount C-brackets allow for easy installation under eaves, pivoting up to 180¡ and horizontal or vertical mounting

* OmniMount(tm) compatibility

"The latest ELAN O Series models have been designed with great passion and meticulous detail in order to provide the finest in audio reproduction," added Paul Starkey, ELAN's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "In addition, these new speakers complement our already established full line of indoor and outdoor speakers. With exceptional performance, durability and price, we expect this new line to be a standard-setter, and one that continues in the tradition set by our ELAN M Series speakers."
