Daewoo Shows LCD TV Line, Including 40-inch Prototype
At CES (8/1/2004)
Daewoo Electronics America, Inc. showcased a full
line of LCD sets today, including a stunning digital 40-inch prototype
model that pushes the limits of liquid-crystal-display technology.
Such products emphasize the company's ambitions to become a major
force in the digital TV market by 2007, and its commitment to providing
exceptional quality at an affordable price.
The company's line of LCD models on display
includes:
* DSL-15D3: 15-inch, DSL-17DW3: 17-inch,
and the DSL-20D3, a 20-inch models. These HDTV digital LCD televisions
pack impressive imaging into an ultra-slim and compact cabinet.
All models deliver an impressive 800:1 contrast ratio, 500 cd/m2
peak luminance, and a 170/170-degree horizontal/vertical viewing
angle. With a native 720p format, they are also capable of displaying
broadcasts in the 480p and 1080i digital video formats. The 17-inch
also offers a full 16:9-ratio wide-screen image, and incorporates
a picture-in-picture function. All televisions in this series will
be available for the second quarter of 2004 with the 15-inch at
an MSRP of $699, 17-inch at an MSRP of $1,299 and the 20-inch at
an MSRP of $1,399.
* DSL-26D3: 26-inch, DSL-32D3: 32-inch, and
the DSL-40WD3 a 40-inch prototype are also on display at Daewoo
Electronics' exhibit. These HDTV LCD models support 1080i, 720p,
480p and 480i digital video formats. They offer 800:1 contrast ratios
for crisp, sharp images. All include picture-in-picture functions.
All televisions in this series will available for the third quarter
of 2004 with the 26-inch at an MSRP of $1,999, 32-inch at an MSRP
of $3,999 and the 40-inch at an MSRP of $4,999.
