Daewoo Showcases Extensive Digital Projection-TV Lineup At CES (8/1/2004)

Daewoo Electronics America. Inc. displayed a full line of wide-screen rear-projection digital televisions today at the International Consumer Electronics Show, ranging in screen sizes from 47 to 60 inches. All provide uncompromising quality and performance at attractive price points, and underscore the company's objectives to become a major force in the digital TV market by 2007.

The company's extensive line of rear-projection digital sets on display includes:

* DSJ-4710CN: 47-inch and DSJ-5510CN: 55-inch models are available for the HDTV-ready wide-screen digital set with native 1080i resolution. It includes a motion-adaptive 3D digital comb filter that reduces cross-color artifacts for sharp, vivid images, and virtual Dolby Surround sound with a five-band equalizer control for full theater-like sound from its built in speakers. The set also comes with two-tuner picture-in-picture and a full complement of A/V inputs and outputs. It's rated at a 400:1 contrast ratio with a peak luminance of 600 cd/m2. Both models will be available for the first quarter of 2004 with the 47-inch at an MSRP of $1,299 and the 55-inch at an MSRP of $1,599.

* DSJ-5020CN: 50-inch and DSJ-6000LN: 60-inch models are available for the rear-projection HDTV-ready digital television that comes in a slim two-piece cabinet and offers 720p native resolution, and is compatible with 480i, 480p standard-definition and 1080i high-definition digital video formats. It likewise comes with a motion-adaptive 3D digital comb filter, and picture-in-picture, but adds five built-in speakers to its onboard Dolby Pro Logic decoder and five-band equalizer. The 50-inch model will be available for the third quarter of 2004 with an MSRP of $3,999. The 60-inch is currently in distribution, with an MSRP of $4,499. This model also won a previous CES Design and Engineering Award.
