ReQuest Multimedia Adds Video Library Controller (2/1/2004)

The VideoReQuest Digital Video Controller Manages DVD Libraries with the Same Award Winning User Interface as the AudioReQuest Music Servers

ReQuest Multimedia, the industry leader in digital music servers for audio and now video entertainment systems, has announced its much anticipated Digital Video Controller, the VideoReQuest.

The VideoReQuest delivers flexible program access and complete system control over a library of as many as 1600 DVDs with seamless integration into new or existing home systems or custom installations, or into systems that already incorporate the company's AudioReQuest music-server by providing the same exciting user interface experience.

The new design works by assuming complete command of one or more units of the Sony DVP-CX777ES high-end 400-disc DVD changer, up to a maximum of four changers for a potential capacity of 1600 discs-enough to serve up a different movie every night of the week for more than four full years. (The Sony DVD changer is available from ReQuest Multimedia bundled with the VideoReQuest). The VideoReQuest provides the ability to organize and sort stored DVD collections onscreen alphabetically, by title, favorite actor, genre and even rating, making it easy to locate favorite films.

Plug-and-play installation makes integration into a new or existing home theater system uncomplicated while operation is performed by the supplied remote control or by Crestron and AMX touch panels.

"It's been clear for some time that our customers and dealers required an elegant, effective video-server solution, and ReQuest's leadership in the music-server category places us in a commanding position to be able to deliver it," says ReQuest's co-founder John Reine. "This product, which is the result of months of market research and product development, offers the end user literally state-of-the-art video and audio performance with massive storage capabilities."
