Rotel Upgrades Popular Stereo Integrated Amp (2/1/2004)

Rotel's cost-effective stereo integrated amplifiers have long been favored by serious music lovers and audio fans alike for their deft musical reproduction and sensible high-value. Rotel's latest integrated amp, the 60-wattsper- channel RA-1062, carries on this tradition proudly, with new internal components and refined design. Consequently, the RA-1062 offers a highly affordable and simple onecomponent amplification solution for musical integrity, stereo imaging, and fast, powerfully detailed dynamics which rivals separate pre- and power-amplifier combos costing many times more.

"Integrated amplifiers are a bit of a 'heritage' product for Rotel," says Rotel America V.P. and General Manager Michael Bartlett. "And Rotel has always maintained its position in this area with extremely high-quality components. The RA-1062 was acknowledged recently by a leading British audio magazine as 'Amplifier of the Year,' and we take great pride in introducing it now to the USA market and in setting the world standard for audiophile sonics at rational value in this category. The RA-1062 solidifies our position with musicality and definition that exceeds the demands of today's best high-resolution recordings."

The RA-1062 is a direct descendant of Rotel's long-standing RA-1060, and, as with its predecessor, the foundation of its 'Balanced Design' concept is an extremely capable power supply. In the RA-1062's case, this means a bifurcated supply with independent high-current 'main' and strictly regulated 'subsidiary' sections that serve power-amp and line-/phono-stages with optimized voltage and current, drawing on a specialized Rotel-designed, Rotel made high-output toroidal transformer.

The new amplifier also features 'T-network' capacitors an advance on slit-foil caps that maintain almost perfect isolation of input and output currents for important reductions of inherent distortions and for important gains in small-signal detail and dynamic finesse. Along with the uprating of all other signal-critical components to instrument-grade devices, this propels the RA-1062's sonics to a higher level than even its award-winning predecessor.

The RA-1062 also boasts important functional additions. A refined moving-magnet phonograph preamp is now on board in addition to input-circuit balance control and audiophile-grade metal multiway speaker terminals. Five line-level inputs, a 12-volt trigger, and a remote-IR input, along with A/B speaker switching and a front-panel headphone output ensure that this component will easily meet the integration needs of any system, while its simple, intuitive, full-function remote control and supplied handset ensure satisfying convenience.
