Screen Research Announces Its New Range Of Masking
Systems For Fixed-Frame Screens (23/12/2003)
To complement its recently introduced range of
ClearPix acoustically transparent screens, Screen Research announces
its range of masking systems for fixed-frame screens.
This product, called the XMask, which is
both innovative and patented; it ensures that the projected image
has a black border no matter what its format, noticeably improving
the perceived image quality.
The XMask range will be available for sale
beginning in January 2004 and will include:
- A four-way masking system (horizontal and
vertical) for 16/9-format screens, capable of adapting to all formats.
- Two-way systems (horizontal or vertical).
These systems stand out due to their striking
innovations:
- Each mask is powered by an independent
motor to ensure maximum flexibility and precision.
- The lateral vertical masks move horizontally
to ensure a true cinema effect. The XMask will be the first system
to have this feature.
- The frame will be only 5 1/" (14 cm) wide,
offering unequaled compactness.
- The possibility to reuse existing projection
screens within the XMask.
The full technical specifications and the
price list will be available early January 2004.
