Unwired Technology Turns Up The Volume On Home Theater
With WhiteFire Wireless Speakers! (11/12/2003)
Critically-Acclaimed, Cutting-Edge Audio System
for Mobile Entertainment to Surround the Home With Unsurpassed Sound
Unwired Technology LLC, the world's largest supplier
of wireless headphones to the fast-growing mobile theater market,
is connecting its red-hot WhiteFire(tm) format to a debut line of
wireless speakers for home theater use. Featuring the critically-acclaimed,
cutting-edge WhiteFire technology, the new speakers will provide
uncompressed digital sound for astute audio entertainment buffs
everywhere. The new WhiteFire speakers will be unveiled at the Consumer
Electronics Show, January 8-11, 2004.
Committed to further extending the market
for its unrivaled proprietary technology, for the first time, Unwired
will offer speaker manufacturers the exciting opportunity to license
WhiteFire's digital technology for use in their own branded offerings.
"Unwired's WhiteFire system is already widely
recognized for its unparalleled sound quality and the freedom it
affords consumers to take full advantage of all the entertainment
options available today," said Lawrence Richenstein, Unwired Technology
President. "Our plans for WhiteFire technology are wide-ranging
and, today, we are thrilled to translate the WhiteFire format for
the digital transmission of audio to other key entertainment venues
beyond the mobile arena."
The crisp, clear sound of WhiteFire wireless
speakers is delivered with latency (delay) of only 7 milliseconds,
while the system's Infrared (IR) 16-bit synchronous uncompressed
wireless delivery method ensures the highest possible level of sound
quality.
This marks the first time that Unwired's
WhiteFire digital audio entertainment system, initially introduced
for the mobile entertainment market, will appear in the home.
Because IR is line-of-sight technology, it
is especially applicable for automobiles as well as homes and buildings
where separate broadcasts are desired in a single enclosed area.
WhiteFire code can also be transmitted via well-known radio frequency
formats such as IEEE 802.11b. Additional applications for the new
technology include museums, movie theaters and amusement parks,
among other suitable venues.
Recently awarded 31/2 out of four stars by
USA Today ("Wave Bye to Contentious Road Trips") and featured in
the "Circuits" section of The New York Times ("No Need for Arguments
Over Whose Music to Play"), the WhiteFire system for mobile entertainment
delivers up to four stereo audio channels simultaneously, allowing
each passenger to select his/her own audio from a range of on-board
entertainment options such as DVD players, CDs, videogames, radios
and other devices.
