Net-atHome2003: a very successful event (26/11/2003)

The Net-atHome(tm) Conference & exhibition, now in its 6th year, was organized by Homega Research in Cannes on October 30 & 31, 2003, as part of a "Net-atHome(tm)2003 Week" including:

* the Net-atHome(tm)2003 European Sites Tour, a tour of leading trials and demos in Europe - the UPnP Fall Summit, co-located with the Net-atHome(tm) and organized by Homega Research on behalf of the UPnP(tm) Forum

* an open Concertation Meeting of the European Commission (EC), involving EC funded projects in the field of "Networked Audiovisual Systems and Home Platforms"

* the annual Net-atHome(tm) Pre-conference Workshop organized by Homega Research and chaired by Roger Torrenti

The Net-atHome(tm)2003 Conference & Exhibition was very successful in terms of participation: 250 attendees, 25 countries represented, 50 speakers, 26 exibitors, 37 sponsors and supporting organizations.

Among the attendance, there was a noteable presence of Asian representatives, reflecting this fast growing market. The European Commission widely supported this event by opening the first-day conference and by allowing a high visibility to connected home related projects funded by the European Commission.

The exhibition featured a tremendous range of products and technologies to support the Connected Home business: narrowband and broadband networking technologies, residential gateways, media servers, microchip technologies, white goods and some appealing demos combining several of these technologies.

The event was also very successful in terms of media visibility, widely reported on several TV channels and in a number of magazines and newspaper, among which TV report from Canal+ and articles published in Nice-Matin.

Last but not least, the event has been considered as valuable or very valuable by 96% of its attendees (results of an onsite survey to which over 25% of attendees have answered) which awards the Homega Research team for the work done in order to build a leading event, useful to the industry and providing a unique opportunity to access reliable information on market status and trends, network with worldwide peers, and make business.
