HAI Announces New Lighting Control Options (25/11/2003)
HAI, the leading manufacturer of integrated security
and home automation products since 1985, announced at the EH Expo
in Long Beach, CA, that its Omni Family controllers will now support
both Lutron RadioRA and the new Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) technology.
Lutron's RadioRA dimmers are a favorite of
custom electrical installers for high performance and good looks.
RadioRA uses innovative radio-frequency communication technology
and built-in safeguards to ensure reliable wireless communication
between all system components. RadioRA can be installed in any home,
including existing homes, late-stage construction, and new homes
- without rewiring.
UPB technology is the next generation of
powerline carrier technology, using a new digital transmission format
with the range and reliability required by professional installers
in large custom homes. Developed by industry veteran PCS Lighting
of Northridge, CA., UPB has been extensively field tested, with
products in use in commercial and now, residential applications.
HAI's award-winning Omni controllers currently
have integrated support of Leviton DHC, Lightolier Compose, Advanced
Lighting Control (ALC), Smarthome Mfg., and X-10 Pro.
"HAI remains committed to advancing
the state of the art in reliability and ease of installation for
home and small commercial automation systems", explains HAI President
Jay McLellan. "Supporting Lutron's RadioRA and PCS's UPB technology
will give HAI dealers more flexibility to accommodate virtually
any type of lighting control for their customers."
HAI demonstrated the technologies at the
EH Expo trade show in Long Beach, CA. Expected release date for
support in HAI's OmniLT, OmniII and OmniProII controllers is January,
2004.
