Ahead of Previous Year; Nearly 6,000 Converge in Long Beach for
Exhibits, Training, Keynotes and Fun! (19/11/2003)
Last week 5,748 industry professionals met at
the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif., for the
fourth annual Electronic House Expo Fall, making this event the
largest in the show's history. The attendees took in dozens of product
launches and hundreds of demonstrations by 235 exhibiting companies.
EHX, the official event of CEA's TechHome Division, featured major
product categories, including home networking, multiroom audio,
home theater, home automation, lighting controls and security systems.
Among this year's highlights:
* 5,748 attendees -- a 43% increase over
2002 attendance
* 235 exhibitors in approximately 94,000
gross square feet of exhibit space (a 56% increase vs. 2002)
* 13 Distributed Audio Awards Winners Announced
* Informative, cutting-edge keynotes on builder
relations, residential systems integration, open standards for control
and IP-based products from AVAD, AMX, Xplore Solutions and CE Pro
* Professional certification training & testing
by CEDIA
* Debut of the EHX Unplugged social event,
a rousing California bash featuring live musical entertainment sponsored
by SpeakerCraft
Among the 235 exhibitors were event sponsors:
AVAD, AMX, Xplore Solutions, BOSE, DirectConnect, Electronic Stockroom,
Furman Sound, HomeLogic, Leviton, OnQ Technologies, Premier Mounts,
Russound, Smarthome and ZON.
The EHX conference program provided attendees
with unparalleled education, including CEDIA regional training in
three seminar tracks. In total, EHX offered 58 seminars and full-day
boot camps, which were attended by more than 385 integrators looking
to increase their knowledge of innovations and technologies for
the fast growing electronic home.
"Once again the sponsors, endorsers, producers
and participants of EHX have teamed to achieve our enduring goal
-- to make each show bigger and better than the last," said EH Events
& Education Vice President John Galante. "Our exposition was much
broader and deeper in product coverage; our conference program,
enriched; and the size and dynamism of our attendee audience, the
best ever."
The next Electronic House Expo will take
place March 10-13, 2004, at the Orange County Convention Center
in Orlando, Fla.
