Super Audio CD Gears up for Christmas (18/11/2003)
The Super Audio CD teams at Philips, Sony and
Universal Music are gearing up for a big sales push in the pre-Christmas
sales period. Having formed a Super Audio CD project team, with
a remit to promote the format to all sections of the audio industry
from music studios to the record buying public, the companies see
this busy period being the next progression in the format's establishment
throughout Europe.
Working together, the three companies have
established marketing teams throughout key European markets such
as Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and the UK. In many cases,
representatives from other record companies, such as EMI and Sony
Music supplement these teams. The promotional campaigns include
press promotion, database marketing and point of sale promotion
in many consumer equipment and music retail outlets.
Three European Directors are marshaling this
ambitious promotional campaign - Dirk de Clippeleir from Universal
Music, Jos Bruins from Philips and David Walstra from Sony.
