Xerox Digital Projector Packs High Performance in
a 2-Pound Design for Business Presentations, Home Entertainment
(18/11/2003)
The Xerox DP 1011 digital projector announced
today is one of the industry's smallest, lightest and easiest-to-use
high-resolution digital projectors, providing versatility for use
in the office, on the road or at home. When connected to a PC, the
DP 1011 can be used to showcase business presentations and when
connected to a DVD player or digital TV, it is suitable for home
theater entertainment.
"The Xerox DP 1011 is an exceptionally high-performing
projector in a super compact design, providing unsurpassed picture
clarity, luminance and color accuracy," said Ron Tussy, principal
analyst at Imerge Consulting Group.
The DP 1011 weighs just 2.1 pounds yet provides
a contrast ratio of 2000:1 and 1100 ANSI lumens, making it one of
the brightest projectors in the microportable (sub-3 pounds) class.
The DP 1011 projector's 1024 x 768 (XGA) resolution provides the
finest details for displaying presentations on large screens and
can support High-Definition TV (HDTV). The projector can display
up to 16.7 million colors focused through a Carl Zeiss(TM) f/2.8-3.1
zoom lens.
Widescreen Review Columnist Terry Paullin
adds "The Xerox DP 1011 has the best colorimetry and video dynamic
range of anything I've seen in this emerging under-$5000 cross-over
(data projector/video projector) market."
The Xerox DP 1011's powerful Digital Light
Processor(TM) (DLP) architecture incorporates advanced technology
from Texas Instruments, which allows the DP 1011 to digitally manipulate
light and therefore project truer blacks, show brighter image quality
and lasts longer than comparable Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)-based
projectors. The DP 1011 supports all global video standards including
NTSC, PAL and SECAM. The projector is compatible with both Windows
and Apple Macintosh environments and emits just 34 decibels of noise.
The DP 1011 comes with a credit card-sized
remote control, cables and a convenient carrying case. It also has
dual infra-red receivers -- front and rear -- which allow people
to wirelessly adjust the image quality.
The Xerox DP 1011 digital projector is developed,
marketed and supported by Visioneer, Inc., based on a trademark
licensing agreement between the two companies announced earlier
this year.
