ARCAM Makes State-of-the-Art DVD Video More Affordable With DiVA DV78 DVD Player (30/10/2003)

Building on the global success of Arcam's high-end DVD Players, the DV78 is an affordable enthusiast level machine with all the superb video performance of the remarkable DV88 Plus; that means one of the best DVD pictures in the world!

As Arcam design and build their own DVD players in the UK, rather than assembling kits of Far Eastern parts in a nice box, the R&D team were able to achieve this price/performance ratio, by totally re-engineering the DV88 Plus's core design for more efficient production. An all-new single 4-layer main circuit board and revised power supply have simplified construction and assembly without compromising on quality in any way.

The DV78 supports both interlaced and progressive video outputs including 625p PAL progressive video and has an exceptionally high level of video performance, delivering film-like clarity, depth and smoothness from even poorly coded DVDs.

Special attention has been paid to sound quality and particularly to CD replay via the analogue outputs - an area where nearly all DVD players fall short of audiophiles' expectations. On music from CD or DVD, the DV78 will not disappoint.

Responding to user feedback from previous models, a new remote handset the CR415 (shown right) has been designed. This features a clearly logical layout with highly legible buttons and with key controls colour-coded to provide fast and intuitive access to all DV78 functions. For those times when the remote is not to hand, the new NAVIGATION fascia button allows direct access to the DV78's set-up menu and disc menus, allowing any DVD to be navigated directly from the player's front panel.
