SpeakerCraft's New Aim Monitors Are Am Ideal Solution When Applications Require Box Speakers (23/10/2003)

SpeakerCraft, America's original manufacturer of in-wall speakers, announces five new cabinet speakers which takes SpeakerCraft performance out of the wall, and places it onto the shelf. All five speakers are fully shielded for use in close proximity to televisions.

According to Jeff Francisco, SpeakerCraft's Vice President of Product Development, "while an ideal system has all loudspeakers located in the wall or ceiling, sometimes applications demand a shelf-mounted speaker, the Monitor Series fills that need. Our dealers can mix and match our monitors with our in-wall or in-ceiling models to get a seamless integration, which is ideal for high performance home theater systems."

Each center channel Aim Monitor features SpeakerCraft's Uni-Pivot module. Each Uni-Pivot incorporates a sealed enclosure for the midrange and tweeter, which allows these critical components to be aimed as one unit. Because center channel cabinets often have to be placed above or below the screen, they are not directed at the listener. The Uni-Pivot solves this problem. With Uni-Pivot your favorite spot is truly the best seat in the house.

The Monitor Series consists of five models, which are designed to match perfectly with SpeakerCraft's MT, CRS and AIM series of speakers. Each cabinet comes standard in a black ash finish.

The AIM Monitor Four Center features outstanding performance and is ideal for high-powered systems that demand clean output while being driven hard. Each speaker features dual 8 1/2" aluminum/magnesium cone woofers with a phasing plug. The critical mid and high frequencies can be aimed directly to the listener by using the Uni-Pivot. The Uni-Pivot contains a 2 1/2" aluminum/magnesium dome midrange and a 1" aluminum/magnesium tweeter. Retail price is $799 each.

The AIM Monitor Three models, rounding out the premium end of the line, are timbre matched to the MT Three, CRS Three and the AIM Three Series Speakers. The AIM Monitor Three features a 6 1/2" aluminum cone woofer, paired with a 1" aluminum dome tweeter. Retail price is $499 per pair. The AIM Monitor Three Center adds an additional 6 1/2" aluminum woofer and a Uni-Pivot module that holds a 2 1/2" aluminum dome midrange and a 1" aluminum dome tweeter. Retail price is $499 each.

The AIM Monitor One center models utilize SpeakerCraft's exclusive Uni-pivot technology to direct the critical mid and high frequencies to the listener. Each model is timbre matched to the MT One and CRS One 6" and 8" Series Speakers. No longer are listeners limited by placement of the cabinet. The Uni-pivot module is a self-contained module that can be aimed, independent of the cabinet position, towards the listening area. Retail price is $299 per pair. The AIM Monitor One center features two 6 1/2" polypropylene woofers, one 2.5" polypropylene Uni-pivot midrange, and one 3/4" treated silk dome Uni-pivot tweeter. Retail price is $299 Each.

The AIM Monitor One is a 6 1/2 " two way and is timbre matched to the MT One and CRS One 6" and 8" Series Speakers. It features a 6 1/2" polypropylene cone and a 1" silk dome tweeter. A matching Monitor One Center for use as a center channel in home theater applications uses dual 6 1/2" polypropylene woofers and a Uni-pivot module that holds 2 1/2" polypropylene midrange and a 3/4" treated silk dome tweeter.
