Two UPnP Summits Are Scheduled for Fall 2003; Events in Europe and California Focus on Continued Momentum For UPnP Technology (23/10/2003)

The UPnP(TM) Forum and UPnP(TM) Implementers Corporation (UIC) announced that two UPnP Summits are scheduled for this fall -- one in Cannes, France and one in Mountain View, California. The Summit in France will be October 28 and 29 and is co-located with the Net-atHome show, the largest home networking conference and exhibition in Europe. Together, the Summit and Net-atHome show will provide 4 days of in-depth networking information in Europe. The Summit in California will be November 13 and 14 at the Microsoft Conference Center in Mountain View and will focus on the continued roll-out of UPnP technology.

The UPnP(TM) Summits will highlight the ongoing progress in the development and certification of UPnP devices, as well as the future direction of UPnP technology around XML and SOAP based technologies. Attendees will learn the steps to develop, design, and certify UPnP devices, and the Summits will include technical tracks discussing UPnP development tools and products, as well as a glimpse of what's on the roadmap for UPnP technology, including an overview of how Web Services may be used in the future. There will also be marketing tracks that highlight UPnP business opportunities and growing momentum around UPnP products today.
