Software upgrade enables connection of the WeatherHawk
to the World Wide Web (13/10/2003)
Have you ever thought of installing your own weather
station to monitor weather conditions? Would your customers benefit
from having details of changes in local weather?
WeatherHawk is the most durable, versatile
and easy to use automatic weather station available and can be installed
in minutes. Wind speed, wind direction, air temperature, relative
humidity, solar radiation, barometric pressure and rainfall sensors
are fully installed and preconfigured for immediate use.
Such a cost-effective weather station is
ideal for many outdoor sporting venues where weather information
is relevant to the service provided, such as golf courses and hang-gliding
clubs.
A software upgrade enables connection of
the WeatherHawk to the World Wide Web - the user can then access
the weather on the WeatherHawk by referring to the website. For
example, private airfields can install a WeatherHawk at a fixed
location and use the internet as a weather information notice board
for their members. Any golf course or caravan can use a similar
concept to augment their website.
Available in two configurations, WeatherHawk
can be connected directly into the serial port of a PC, or any available
USB port using an optional adapter. Alternatively, Wireless WeatherHawk
transmits via spread spectrum radios in the 2.4 GHz radio band,
capable of up to 0.4km line of sight wireless transmission range.
