The Linn AKURATE Loudspeaker System

AKURATE is a new and exciting high performance multi-channel loudspeaker system. AKURATE consists of four distinct, acoustically matched loudspeakers that can be simply configured for passive and active playback to deliver pitch accurate stereo or multi-channel sound for high performance music and home theater.

Three of the AKURATE loudspeakers are full range: the AKURATE 242 floorstanding loudspeaker; the AKURATE 212 compact loudspeaker and, the AKURATE 225 centre channel loudspeaker. The fourth AKURATE loudspeaker is the 221, a pitch accurate, active servo controlled bass reinforcement loudspeaker.

AKURATE loudspeakers are engineered to take full advantage of new high definition multi-channel formats, and are built to last. AKURATE loudspeakers deliver wider bandwidth and higher resolution than conventional loudspeakers and do full justice to the superb signal performance now possible with new reference standard source and control products designed to take advantage of the new high definition sound and vision formats.

The unique Linn 3K Driver Array (patent pending) featured in AKURATE floor-standing, compact and centre channel loudspeakers creates a single point sound source for optimised dispersion and improved high frequency response. AKURATE 242

An elegant floor-standing twin ported loudspeaker with the Linn 3K Drive Array. Bass extension calibration allows precise adjustment of bass response to accurately suit the listening environment.

AKURATE 212

A compact, stand mountable ported loudspeaker with Linn 3K Driver Array and matching bass unit.

AKURATE 225

A centre channel infinite baffle loudspeaker with Linn 3K Driver Array and twin bass units. Bass extension calibration allows bass response to be tailored to suit the listening environment.

AKURATE 221

A servo controlled 500 Watt bass reinforcement sealed loudspeaker enclosure for pitch accurate active bass for both high fidelity music and movie sound.

The AKURATE 242, 212 and 225 models feature high quality bass drive units and loudspeaker cones constructed from three layers of bonded polymers to help deliver pitch accurate extended and musical bass. The rigid braced cabinet construction contributes towards the performance delivered by the advanced drive units. The floor standing Akurate 242 loudspeaker and the compact Akurate 212 loudspeaker incorporate double-ended flared ports whilst the Akurate 225 centre channel loudspeaker with twin bass units, operates within a sealed infinite baffle enclosure, as does the floorstanding Akurate 221 bass reinforcement loudspeaker.

The AKURATE 242, 212 and 225 models can be alternated simply between Aktiv and passive configurations with advanced precision engineered passive cross-overs. A cast metal base with adjustable feet provides a solid and stable foundation for the floor standing Akurate 242 and with the addition of a column will also support the compact Akurate 212 monitor and Akurate 225 centre-channel loudspeakers.
