Kramer presents scalers and intros audio delay line

Kramer Electronics introduces VA-256 balanced stereo audio delay line; unique solution to work with scaler/switcher combination devices

Kramer Electronics introduced to the residential and home theater markets the VA-256 balanced stereo audio delay line at the CEDIA Expo 2003 trade show in Indianapolis on Sept. 5 to 7, 2003.

The VA-256 is a balanced stereo audio delay line providing a user-selectable delay ranging from 10 ms to 2.5 seconds in increments of 10 ms. In many of today's scaling/switching combination devices, the audio can get out of sync with the video image as the video image is subject to a good deal of processing. The VA-256 provides a solution to this problem.

"The VA-256 is a really unique solution to a very common issue in our industry today," stated Chris Kopin, Kramer Electronics U.S. director of product development. "With the growing popularity of scalers with switching capabilities, there is a tremendous need for this kind of device that will slow down the audio in order to properly track with the video, which is being delayed by the processing in these scaler/switchers."

The VA-256 has high-quality anti-aliasing and output smoothing filters to provide the best quality output possible. The unit digitizes signals to 24-bit resolution at 48kHz to further ensure unsurpassed audio quality. It is fully transparent from 20Hz to 20kHz.

Inputs and outputs on the VA-256 are conveniently placed on 6-pin detachable terminal block connectors. It is housed in a rugged, yet compact, Kramer TOOLS enclosure.
