V Inc. rolls out 42-inch Vizio P2 plasma TV
Faroujda(r) DCDi(tm) deinterlacing processor maximizes DVD and
SD content; DVI-D HDCP input offers future-proofing and direct digital
picture quality
V Inc. announced the addition of the Vizio P2, a 42" EDTV, to its
line of critically acclaimed products. The Vizio P2 has a native
resolution of 852x480 (pixels) and is compatible with PC resolutions
up to XGA (1024x768) and HDTV formats including 480p, 1080i and
720p. It comes standard with an integrated 181-channel NTSC/PAL
TV tuner, attractive stand and built-in stereo speakers.
V Inc.'s introduction of the Vizio P2 boasts an
amazingly thin (3.5" deep) widescreen (16:9) plasma display with
a 160-degree viewing angle, 800:1 contrast ratio and the ability
to produce 16.77 million colors of rich, bright picture viewing.
V Inc.'s menu-driven onscreen control system makes image and color
adjustments fast and easy. Home and computer automation are available
through a 9-pin RS-232C connection.
The new and affordable Vizio P2 offers a complete
complement of inputs, accommodating the needs of today's home theaters
and boardrooms. Analog video inputs include RGB (VGA type 15-pin
D-Sub), standard- or high-definition component video, RGBHV, S-video,
composite video and standard RF. A DVI-D (digital video interface)
with HDCP has been included on the Vizio P2 to allow direct digital
input to similarly equipped PC or Mac(r) computers, HDTV set-top
boxes and DVD players such as V Inc.'s award-winning Bravo D1. Direct
digital connection via DVI eliminates video scaling and noise artifacts
that are introduced due to unnecessary analog-to-digital conversion.
An advanced digital image processor enhances and
controls the various sources input into the digital display. It
features high-performance DCDi(tm) motion adaptive deinterlacing
to produce progressive-scan images from standard-definition content
and 3:2 pulldown of filmed DVD material for flicker-free playback.
Four adjustable aspect ratios include 4:3 or 16:9 (full), 4:3 to
16:9 (zoom 1) and 4:3 to modified 16:9 (zoom 2). An adjustable size
and position picture-in-picture feature allows viewers to keep track
of two programs at the same time.
Responsibly engineered, the Vizio P2 is UL, CSA,
FCC Class B approved. It features exceptional build quality to ensure
many years of trouble-free usage. The TV/monitor comes with a one-year
standard parts-and-labor warranty. Optional accessories include
wall- and ceiling-mount units and attachable powered speakers. Weighing
75 lbs. with dimensions of 41.3" W x 25.5" H x 3.5" D, the Vizio
P2 will be available in October 2003 with a suggested retail price
of $2,999.
