News 8/9/2003 Jamo Enters the Plasma TV Arena Powered by Sigma Designs' EM8610 Sigma Designs, a leader in digital media processing for consumer appliances, today announced that Sigma's EM8610 digital media processor will power Jamo's new HDP 4250 Plasma, high-definition TV (HDTV). Jamo is the leading European manufacturer of loudspeakers. Sigma's EM8610, based on its award-winning REALmagic(TM) technology, provides a highly integrated solution for ATSC, DVB, IP video, DVD and MPEG-4 decoding. Besides offering state-of-the-art technology, the Jamo HDP 4250 Plasma TV is part of a complete system solution, with DVD receiver and loudspeakers, where both form and function are completely integrated, enabling easy installation and operation of the advanced technology. "Jamo has a tradition of providing the discriminating consumer with smart and beautiful solutions," said Leif Schmucker, executive brand director, Jamo. "Building on our strength with audio entertainment products, our foray into providing Plasma TVs made selecting Sigma Designs for the picture quality a natural move. The Jamo Plasma TV solution includes a DVD-receiver, allowing movies to be watched or presentations to be run just by pressing one button on the system remote control. The system solution is complete with radio, all digital amplification, DVD, DivX 4 and 5, XviD, CD, MP3, JPEG and others as standard features.
