Runco Blows the Roof off High End Home Theater Video!
Two new families of 3-chip DLP based projectors provide a total
of 8 different models
Runco International solidifies their position as the leader in
high performance, high end video displays with the introduction
of two new families of 3-chip projectors based on Texas Instruments
Digital Light Processing technology. The Video Xtreme(tm) VX-4c
and VX-6c employ TI's most advanced Dark Metal Process DMD chipset,
boasting a native resolution 1280 x 1024.
The Video Xtreme VX-4c and VX-6c projectors
represent the ultimate in video versatility and high performance
for the most demanding home theater environments. Runco offers four
distinct versions of both the VX-4c and VX-6c, to meet the needs
of any installation requirement:
* VX-4c/VX-6c 720P system offers high definition
resolution in a 16:9 format, while providing multiple aspect ratio
selection in addition.
* VX-4c/VX-6c 960P system provides even
greater resolution at all aspect ratios.
* VX-4c/VX-6c 1024P system yields the ultimate
resolution by employing every available pixel for maximum picture
clarity and brightness.
* VX-4c/VX-6c 1024P 2.35 aspect ratio system
also makes the maximum resolution fully available, even at a 2.35:1
aspect ratio. This is the only consumer system capable of handling
the very widest CinemaScope 2.35:1 aspect ratio with no loss of
resolution.
"Runco believes there is a great demand
for high-end home theaters. Runco has always dominated this market,
and the products we're introducing here at CEDIA prove it," says
Ben Jamison, VP of Sales and Marketing for Runco. "By providing
several varying resolution options, the installer can choose an
appropriate model to best compliment the overall system effect they're
trying to achieve. The Video Xtreme Series provides awesome power,
control, and flexibility in a premium package."
For optimal brightness, a 700-watt Xenon
lamp is used in the VX-4c models and a powerful 1.2-kilowatt lamp
is used in the flagship VX-6c family. The results are exceptionally
bright and crisp high-resolution images on a wide variety of screen
sizes. Measured with Runco's highly accurate Cinema Standards Measurement
System (CSMS)(tm), the VX-6c is capable of producing a staggering
101.3 foot-Lamberts (5385 Home Theater ANSI Lumens) of brightness,
while the VX-4c can generate up to 56.2 foot-Lamberts or 2938 Home
Theater ANSI Lumens.
Runco has also engineered a lamp intensity
control system, so the lamp can operate at lower output levels when
used with smaller screens to preserve maximum black level performance.
Runco's exclusive CSMS specifications provide light output in both
foot-Lamberts and Home Theater Calibration ANSI Lumens, where the
measurement is taken from a properly calibrated projector using
a specified screen, in a home theater environment.
In addition to the unprecedented versatility
offered by the Xtreme Video families, all 8 models include Runco's
award winning VHD Ultra Video Controller for outstanding video processing,
scaling and aspect ratio control. Runco's legendary horizontal and
vertical lens shift provides maximum installation flexibility, even
in the most difficult applications.
