DeCorp Americas Set To Transform Electrical Installation Industry With Unveiling Of Thinnest Flat Electrical Wire

DeCorp Americas, Inc., the industry leader in advanced flat wiring and interconnect technologies, demonstrated today at a CEDIA press conference the first-ever fully-functional, paper-thin, non-invasive, surface-mounted 15 amp-rated AC electrical wire - DeCordTM FlatWire ReadyTM Flat AC electrical wire. As an affordable, surface-mounted, easy-to-install, virtually invisible and aesthetically superior flat electrical wire technology, this product marks a dramatic paradigm shift in the electrical industry by enabling a variety of new construction, retrofit and home improvement applications, as well as providing a safe and cost-effective option for modernizing an outdated electrical infrastructure.

"Not only does the DeCord Flat AC electrical wire provide convenience and flexibility for renovation applications, the Consumer Product Safety Commission recently stated that 50 millions homes in the US have or are about to reach the end-of-life of their electrical wiring systems," said Robb Sexton, president and CEO of DeCorp Americas. "Prior to today's unveiling, the only effective solution required removing all the existing wiring and rewiring the entire home or office, which is an extremely labor-intensive and costly proposition. The DeCord Flat AC electrical wire is designed so that installers can easily connect to existing electronic equipment, such as a flat screen television in a home or business, enabling easy placement of outlets, lighting and consumer electronics where desired for decorative or functional needs. Moreover, the patented design, rated for 120vac, 15 amp current carrying capabilities, flammability and applications, ensures the wire inherently safe in the case of accidental cuts, breaks or penetrations. DeCorp is currently working with UL and other independent labs to certify the safety of DeCord and anticipates approval during 2004.

FlatWire ReadyTM Video and Voice/Data Wire In addition to the electrical wire, DeCorp will also be demonstrating FlatWire Ready video and voice/data wires and interconnect products for the first time in the DeCorp booth (#1714) at CEDIA.
