Vidikron launches Full Line of 16:9 Plasma Display Monitors

PlasmaView Series includes three models with 42, 50, and 60-inch screens

Vidikron is introducing three new high performance 16:9 Plasma Display Monitors at CEDIA Expo 2003. In the next evolution of the brand's development, the new PlasmaView(tm) Series provides state-of-the-art performance in popular-sized models for tremendous picture quality, flexibility and value.

Perfect for every application, the VP-42, VP-50, and VP-60 offer world class styling, engineering and design. With native resolutions of 852x480 for the VP-42 and 1366x768 for the VP-50 and VP-60, all three models feature HDTV capability (with outboard tuner/decoder, D-VHS or satellite receiver). The PlasmaView Series' advanced engineering innovations provide excellent brightness, contrast and black level performance with outstanding video processing.

"The introduction of the PlasmaView line takes us to the next step in the development of the new Vidikron brand," said Mark Stein, Director of Corporate Communications for Vidikron. "These exceptionally stylish monitors are stand-alone systems with integral video processing, capable of producing superb images, while offering style, simplicity and versatility, providing the ideal Plasma solution for a variety of applications."

The VP-42, VP-50, and VP-60, share Vidikron's unique-Dynamic Pixel Protection(tm) circuitry, which helps to protect the plasma panel from stationary image burn, a persistent industry-wide problem with previous plasma monitors and TV's.

Vidikron's superior video processing with 3:2 film detection circuitry is built into all three Vidikron monitors. It provides exceptional detail and artifact-free video enhancement, enabling the new PlasmaView monitors to reproduce even standard NTSC material at near HD quality. All models feature multiple aspect ratio control including Vidikron's IntelliWide mode, offering the ability to view standard video formats in widescreen without loss of image quality.

All three models feature, discrete IR and RS-232 controls to simplify custom installation applications, while discrete source and aspect ratio selection provide a seamless interface for automation control systems. Mounting options include a tabletop stand or wall mounting kit. With a depth less than 4 inches, and the sleekest styling around, the new PlasmaView models will appeal to a wide range of discerning viewers seeking premium quality plasma monitors.
