AMX Acquires Media Access Solutions

AMX Moves Quickly With Acquisition to Lay Foundation for Future Growth

AMX Corporation, the worldwide leader in advanced control system technology, has announced the acquisition of Media Access Solutions, a U.S.-based content storage, management and distribution company. The transaction furthers AMX's commitment to future growth by enhancing the company's ability to provide convenient, innovative and easy-to-use multimedia solutions.

"This exciting acquisition demonstrates our commitment to growth through both organic and external factors, and to excellence in every product category in which we serve our customers," said Bob Carroll, CEO and President of AMX. "Digital content and distribution is key to our long term strategy and this acquisition is the foundation for our future development."

"AMX approached us with their vision for digital media in June of this year and completed the acquisition in a matter of only eight weeks," said Roni Evron, co-founder of Media Access Solutions. "Such quick action shows AMX's strong desire to transform the way digital media is delivered. We are excited to be part of the AMX team and look forward to increased success based on AMX's superb development, sales and marketing execution."

Media Access Solutions was established in 2000 to provide fast, powerful and reliable solutions for storing, organizing and accessing CDs and DVDs. For the past year, AMX has worked with Media Access Solutions as part of the successful InConcert Program. This continuously growing alliance of companies provides a proven programming standard in order to achieve universal one-touch control and automation.

With the acquisition, AMX introduced a Media Access Solutions product at CEDIA EXPO 2003 under the new name of MAX. This new series of personal integrated content servers is designed to store, manage, distribute and protect audio and video data. By streamlining the process of content creation, the MAX Integrated Media Server (IMS) and MultiMedia Server (MMS) allow users to build and control a library of CDs and DVDs with ease, and to instantly play the stored CDs and DVDs simultaneously, from different integrated environments.
