DPI unveils Mercury HD DLP home cinema projector
Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy(r) Award-winning
manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, announced the
launch of a new home entertainment-oriented and cost-effective projection
display based on three-chip DLP(tm) technology by Texas Instruments
- the Mercury HD. The 1280x720 native-resolution Mercury HD will
be formally introduced at CEDIA Expo (Sept. 3 to 7, Indianapolis).
The Mercury HD delivers 1750 ANSI lumens
and a 2400:1 contrast ratio and features Texas Instruments' Dark
Metal(tm) DMDs for superior black-level performance. It employs
a low-cost, long-life high intensity discharge (HID) lamp system
and can be outfitted with a variety of fixed and power zoom lenses.
The Mercury HD is ideal for small- to medium-sized home theaters,
multifunction family rooms or dedicated media rooms. "The powerful,
high-contrast Mercury HD is the perfect projection system for those
who desire the clear and superior benefits of three-chip DLP imaging
at an exceptional value," said George Walter, home cinema marketing
manager for Digital Projection, Inc. "There has been a compelling
need for a product like the Mercury HD in the home cinema marketplace,
and as the leader in three-chip DLP displays, Digital Projection
is thrilled to be the first company to provide this platform." The
Mercury HD complements DPI's existing line of single-chip and three-chip
DLP home cinema projection systems, including the iVision HD, HIGHlite
Platinum HC, HIGHlite Gold HC and the flagship DLP Cinema(tm) -
certified iS10.
