InFocus ScreenPlay 5700 WIns 2003-2004 European Projector
of the Year
European Imaging and Sound Association EISA Honors Innovative Home
Theater Product from InFocus
InFocus Corporation, the worldwide leader in digital projection
technology and services, today announced that its ScreenPlay(TM)
5700 has been chosen as the 2003-2004 European Projector of the
Year by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA), the largest
editorial multimedia organization in Europe.
The ScreenPlay 5700's innovative design and
superior performance were instrumental in the decision by the EISA
judging panel, comprising experts from over 50 specialist multimedia
magazines, drawn from 20 European countries. The ScreenPlay 5700
was chosen over other projectors because of its native 16:9 Wide
PAL resolution, Faroudja processing and smart software that combine
to provide the most vivid colors, high contrast and the sharpest
image to satisfy the most demanding cinephile.
The ScreenPlay 5700 uses the Matterhorn DLP(TM)
technology from Texas Instruments with native 16:9 wide PAL resolution,
designed specifically for native resolution with PAL sources. For
worldwide customers who use PAL video format, the ScreenPlay 5700
will display images in native resolution and aspect ratio, without
the distortion commonly associated with conventional conversion
techniques.
In addition, the ScreenPlay 5700 offers many
other cutting-edge performance features including 1000 lumens for
bright pictures and 1400:1 contrast ratio for crisp blacks and detailed
gray scale. There are eight selectable video sources for unrivaled
connectivity. The ScreenPlay 5700 also employs the new DCDi from
Faroudja, which has additional color and sharpness, noise reducers
and a videophile-grade scaler.
"Being honored as the European Projector
of the Year is a significant accolade for the ScreenPlay 5700, and
is sure to have a tremendous impact on the success of our products
in Europe and the rest of the world," said Scott Hix, Vice President
and General Manager of InFocus Business Development. "As the first
to deliver a projector generating native wide PAL resolution, InFocus
is continuing to demonstrate its commitment to lead the market as
the best solution provider for home theater projection and technology
innovation."
InFocus offers a complete series of ScreenPlay
home theater projectors, each with an unmatched, award-winning combination
of quality, technology and performance at obtainable prices.
