Smarthome Launches Web-Based Home Automation Service
SmarthomeLive Allows Users to Control Home Devices, View and Monitor
Home, Family and Valuables via Internet
Smarthome, Inc., the world's leading provider of home automation
products and personal gadgets, today announced SmarthomeLive, a
home automation service allowing users to view and monitor their
homes, control a variety of home electronics as well as receive
alerts from motion-detection and other monitoring devices via any
Web browser in the world.
By installing a software application on their
home PC and owning the necessary home automation products, SmarthomeLive
users with access to any Internet-ready PC, cell phone or PDA can:
- Receive alerts via e-mail or text message
that their children have arrived home safely after school;
- Monitor childcare providers or elderly
family members living alone;
- Remotely control home lighting, pool and
spas, thermostats, home entertainment systems, appliances, etc.
in real-time;
- Remotely feed pets and check-up on them
while on vacation or away for the day;
- Receive alerts when motion is detected
near secured areas with valuables or dangerous areas such as a pool;
- Be immediately notified when problems occur
with plumbing or temperatures exceed or fall below pre-determined
limits;
- Receive alerts when a service person arrives,
unlock the door and monitor the service person while they are inside
the home;
- Set TiVo or VCR to record selected TV programs
remotely.
