NEC drops projector and plasma prices
NEC increases affordability of 42VP4, 42VP4D and 84VP4 plasma displays
and MT860 and HT1000 projectors
NEC Solutions (America), Inc. has made high-performance large-screen
display technology more affordable with a $1,500 USD manufacturer's
suggested retail price (MSRP) drop on its PlasmaSync(r) 42VP4 and
42VP4D plasma display models and a $6,000 USD MSRP reduction on
the PlasmaSync 84VP4, its 84" plasma solution. NEC is also making
its projection technology a greater value with a $2,000 USD MSRP
decrease for its MT860(tm) installation projector and a $500 USD
MSRP drop for the ShowCase Series(tm) HT1000(tm) projector, which
recently won a Recognizing Audio Visual Excellence (RAVE) Award
from Home Theater Magazine as Best HD-Capable Projector.
"Projection and plasma display technologies
are powerful tools that enhance communication and learning and streamline
business practices," said Ron Gillies, senior vice president for
NEC Solutions America, Visual Systems Division. "With these new
price points, NEC reconfirms its leadership position in making the
advantages of high-performance display technology affordable to
a wider range of users."
NEC's PlasmaSync 42VP4 and 42VP4D offer users
bright, vibrant images, a sleek new design and built-in stereo audio
as well as the choice between an anti-reflective screen (the 42VP4)
or an anti-glare screen for high ambient lighting conditions (the
42VP4D). The displays also feature wide VGA resolution, a built-in
programmable timer that lets the displays virtually operate themselves,
3x3 matrixing capabilities and the most comprehensive phosphor protection
system available today. The PlasmaSync 84VP4 is a bundled 84" plasma
display solution consisting of four matrixed 42VP4 displays plus
an included wall mount.
With 2800 ANSI lumens of brightness and extensive
input options, the SVGA resolution MT860 gives users a very bright,
yet low-cost, installation projector with optional wired or wireless
networking and a suite of security features to prevent theft.
Already acclaimed for its superior price
performance, the HT1000 now offers even greater affordability. End
users buying the product through Sept. 30, 2003, can also take advantage
of either a $500 rebate or a free anamorphic lens that enables display
of 16:9 content using the projector's full XGA-panel resolution.
Pricing and availability
The PlasmaSync 42VP4 and 42VP4D are now available
through NEC resellers at a suggested retail price of $4,495 USD
(a $1,500 reduction), with the 84VP4 available at an MSRP of $18,975
USD (a $6,000 reduction). The MT860 is available at a retail price
of $3,295 USD (a $2,000 reduction), while the HT1000's MSRP is $4,995
