News 1/8/2003 Samsung Electronics Introduces Integrated, Multi-functional Remote Control Units Samsung Electronics has unveiled a remote control unit (model: PR-2000) that can be used to operate as many as 17 products for Korean domestic market. Samsung engineers designed the new device to maximize the convenience of consumers who are forced to use a different remote controller for each electronic product in the home. The PR-2000 especially targets the rapidly growing number of home theater system owners. The key feature of the PR-2000 is the capability with a wide range of consumer electronics, audio-visual equipment in particular, regardless of the brand. The supported product range includes TVs (up to three), VCRs (up to 2), cable box, DVD player (up to 2), DVDP/VCR combination unit, DVD hard drive recorder, home theater system, DVD receiver, satellite broadcast receiver, high-definition set-top box, camcorder as well as air conditioner. The PR-2000 has more user-friendly features than other multi-function remote control units on the market. The slim and sophisticated-looking Samsung model sports a wide LCD. The button layout is designed for maximum user friendliness, and the LCD lights up for use in the dark.
