Rockford Corporation Announces Shipment of Omnifi,
New Technology Brand
Rockford Corporation (NASDAQ:ROFO), a leading designer and supplier
of mobile audio and home theatre equipment and SimpleDevices are
proud to announce that the award winning Omnifi Home Digital Media
Streamer is now shipping. The Omnifi system received the Consumer
Electronics Association "2003 Best of Innovations" award, TechTV's
"Best of CES" award and Home Automation Magazine named Omnifi as
one of their top 50 products for the year.
Omnifi is designed to bridge the gap between
digital media on Personal Computers and the home audio system, allowing
the user to listen to their vast PC music library wirelessly using
802.11b WIFI technology through any existing home audio system.
Through it's SimpleCenter software, Omnifi is compatible with many
content providers, such as Yahoo, Live 365, Virgin Radio, AOL Shoutcast
and many others. The Omnifi product will be available through various
channels, including traditional retailers, service providers, computer
OEM's and other alternative channels.
SimpleDevices expects to begin shipping SimpleCenter
version 3.0 in September, which will support video and images and
will be compatible with MacIntosh OS X and higher releases. Rockford
and SimpleDevices are also pleased to announce that an OEM licensing
agreement has been signed with Philips for their line of connected
"Streamium" devices.
Gary Suttle, Rockford's president and chief
executive officer said, "We believe Omnifi will bridge the gap between
digital PC-based audio content and a performance-oriented, home-based
audio system whether it is in the same room or on the other side
of the house. It will bridge this gap with no degradation of quality.
In fact, with the bandwidth 802.11b yields, multiple streamer receivers
can be utilized to ensure this digital PC-based content will be
available in any and every room you want."
