Extron to showcase new products at CEDIA 2003: IP Tools Ethernet control interface series, MAV series switchers and VTG 300 video and audio test generator

Extron Electronics (booth #214) will be showcasing a variety of innovative residential and corporate AV systems integration products during the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association's Expo 2003, Sept. 5 to 7, at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome in Indianapolis.

The new products will include many of Extron's latest Ethernet control interfaces, matrix switchers, distribution amplifiers and video/audio test generators.

"Extron continues its industry leadership with an ever-expanding line of quality AV products and the superior service and support our corporate and residential dealers have come to expect," said Lee Dodson, Extron's vice president of marketing. "This year, at CEDIA 2003, we're showing some groundbreaking technologies for audio and video systems."

New products on display will include:

IP Tools Ethernet control interface series

Offering remote accessibility and control, the new IP Tools family of products from Extron represents the future of AV system management. The Extron Ethernet control interfaces offer integral webservers that enable almost any AV device and many other products to be controlled, monitored and accessed from any computer connected to a local area network (LAN) or the Internet.

MAV series: composite, S-video, HDTV/component and stereo audio matrix switchers

Creating an interesting, entertaining, informational or impactful AV experience often requires the routing of multiple audio and video sources to multiple display devices and environments. The Extron MAV series of audio and video matrix switchers is perfect for doing just that.

Now, Extron is expanding the MAV line with 24 new models in smaller, even more affordable versions that route composite video, S-video and audio. These new matrix switchers are ideal for home theaters as well as small AV systems in corporate boardrooms, command-and-control centers, museums, university classrooms, sports bars and videoconferencing rooms. The new units are available in four sizes: 4x4, 4x8, 8x4 and 8x8.

VTG 300: handheld, battery-powered video and audio test generator

The Extron VTG 300 video and audio test generator is a must for every technician's tool kit. This new version of Extron's popular test generator not only combines audio and video test signals in one portable, lightweight, handheld unit, but the new battery-powered capability makes it especially easy to use in the field.

As a versatile reference tool, this all-in-one test generator can be used for both display and audio system setup, performance evaluation, alignment, convergence, calibration and troubleshooting, ensuring accurate video and audio signal quality reproduction in virtually any AV application. Offering 31 of the most common video output rates for computer video, plasma, HDTV, NTSC or PAL video, 10 video test patterns and six audio test signals, the VTG 300 includes an array of features and enhancements that places it in a class all its own.
