What's new?

October 2005 saw visitors to HiddenWires break the 100,000 barrier - we actually had 107,153 visitors and 2,303,920 hits. This is a lot of traffic, and as we've said before, it exceeds our expectations. Of course we aren't satisfied with this and we're working on our plans for 2006, so let us know what you think and what you would like to see - all feedback is welcome. If you would like to contribute to this success in terms of content or advertising then please contact us.

The Connected Home Conference was one of the many events we sponsored last month. With presentations from large consumer electronics manufacturers, telcos, satellite/cable/broadcast companies, broadband Internet service providers etc, this provided a good insight into the plans and visions these companies have for the digital home. All concluded that the infrastructure within the home had to be based on 'no new wires', such as powerline, or wireless technologies. While there is no doubt that these technologies are important, it was disappointing that building structured wiring into new homes was not on the agenda.

However, our feature this month is Wiring and is sponsored by Bryant Broadcast & Data Communications. We have four articles covering wiring for video, wiring for high-quality audio, planned wiring for the consumer and why builders should pre-wire homes.

Finally we would like to thank BBG Distribution for continuing to be a Gold sponsor.
