HiddenWires ezine - 4 May 2005 Welcome to the HiddenWires ezine - a free newsletter designed to keep you up-to-date with high-end home automation and home entertainment news, as well as developments at HiddenWires.co.uk. We will deliver this service to you every month - unless there is some major news we think you should know about sooner. Subscription is free so click here to sign up. Vogel's product portfolio includes award winning mounting supports, featuring state-of-the-art materials, advanced design concepts and patented innovations for audio and visual products. What's new? April 2005 saw 80,815 visitors use HiddenWires, requesting 465,274 pages and making 1,813,976 hits. We have just returned from the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas. Although we were there to see the latest in broadcast, film and video production and post production - anyone interested can visit SYPHAonline.com for more information - there were plenty of technologies relevant to the home market. We saw some stunning high definition footage, displays and projectors, as well as tools for creating HD DVD and Blu-ray titles - there was also discussion about how these rival groups will hopefully come to an agreement and prevent a format war. However the highlight of the show in terms of home technology was to be found in a house sitting in the car park. This turned out to be the NextGen Home organised by iShow.com to show those involved with content creation and delivery the choices consumers have to receive, interact with, manage and enjoy video and audio content. We saw more integrated home technology in the NextGen Home than at most of the other home-related events we've attended recently, so our thanks to Paul Barnett, President of iShow.com for a very enjoyable and informative afternoon. The NextGen Home will be appearing at other events including InfoComm and CES. Now who would like to organise something as inspiring for the UK and Europe? Unfortunately our trip to Vegas meant that we missed the Smart Home Show in Birmingham. By all accounts this was a successful first event and over 75% of exhibitors have rebooked for 2006. The organisers have also announced that there will be a Smart Zone at The London Homebuilding & Renovating Show this September. In case you missed our last ezine, the CEDIA UK Expo is fast approaching and we will be producing a special CEDIA UK Expo 2005 news section, as well as a HiddenWires@CEDIA UK Expo 2005 newsletter. The newsletter will be distributed in print at the show and online as a PDF. To see last year's news section click here and last year's newsletter click here. Please contact us if you would like to be included. Our feature this month is TV & Radio and we have three articles covering flat screen technology, HDTV and DAB digital radio.
