Showcase Genelec Active Speaker Systems for Custom Installations
Genelec recently expanded its product range with three powerful new additions: the AIW25 Active In-Wall Loudspeaker – smaller version of the AIW26 model - the AIC25 Active In-Ceiling Loudspeaker and the AOW312 Active On-Wall Loudspeaker. Each model is designed to meet the needs of the custom installer and further underlines Genelec's ongoing commitment to the high-end home theatre and custom installation market.
All our products are active: they include all amplification, protection circuitry and an electronic crossover. The result is a loudspeaker that achieves far higher acoustic output, lower distortion and greater dynamics than a comparable passive speaker. This allows you to createa system that will achieve real home theatre level output and performance yet that can be easily hidden within a wall unit or behind a screen. Since no two rooms are alike, why should one assume that a loudspeaker will perform at its best in a wide variety of settings? All models incorporate "Room Response Controls" to fine tune the loudspeakers' performance within a room thereby giving you the ability to ensure a great sound in a wide variety of environments. The Active 2-Way Speaker Systems series consists of 8 models to suit a wide variety of needs. The astounding 6020A is diminutive in size, yet can fill some very good size rooms. At the other extreme, the HT210B can energize large dedicated home theatres whilst suiting the demanding visual requirements of a designer or architect. AIW26 and AIW25 active In-Wall loudspeakers can be easily integrated to a room with minimum visual impact. The speaker cabinet fits into a standard 2 x 4" wall structure and the separate grille and mounting frame can be painted to match the wall colour. The AIC25 active In-Ceiling loudspeaker which provides precise and uncolored acoustic response can easily be retrofitted to existing constructions.
The Genelec Active 3-Way models are the HT312A, the HT315A and corresponding center channel version HT320AC as well as the On-Wall AOW312 speaker system. Genelec's unique Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™) technology provides excellent sound imaging and frequency balance. The system can be used in vertical and horizontal orientations by rotating the DCW™ unit incorporating midrange and treble drivers. Very versatile room response controls allow precise and repeatable response in the final theatre installation. Active Large Speaker Systems The Active Large Speaker Systems are very powerful loudspeakers and they consist of one large speaker enclosure and one equipment rack containing all electronics. Such systems are designed to be vertically or horizontally flush mounted in the theatre wall, although they may, in certain installation, be used free standing. Active Subwoofers Genelec's active subwoofer systems are powerful low frequency loudspeakers, designed specially for high quality digital multichannel Home theatre systems. The amplifier unit integrated into the cabinet contains active crossover filters, driver overload protection circuits and a power amplifier. The 5050A, HTS3B and HTS4B are capable of reproducing frequencies in the range 25 - 120 Hz (± 3 dB) for the 5050A and 18 - 120 Hz (± 3 dB) for both HTS3B and HTS4B. They can be used with 6020A, HT206B, HT208B and HT210B. For larger rooms, we recommend the use of HTS6. All units have sensitivity, bass roll-off and crossover phase matching controls which can be adjusted to suit different acoustical environments and subwoofer positioning. The combination of the cabinet and amplifier in one unit results in a robust and precisely matched system. The amplifier is mounted on vibration absorbers, which prevents damage to the electronics. The cabinet is made from MDF with rounded corners and hard-wearing textured black surface. Active Balancer
Genelec DI8A Active Balancer converts an unbalanced line signal to a balanced line signal, thereby reducing its susceptibility to electronic interference on long cable runs. It is the perfect complement for unbalanced signal source outputs and Genelec's Active Home Theatre Systems. It has eight independent signal channels. One of the channels has duplicated outputs, providing easy connection for twin subwoofers in large systems. All signal input connectors are gold-plated RCA's and professional quality XLR's are used for the output channels. A +6dB gain switch is provided for each channel for increasing the signal level from sources with low output levels. '12V trigger' and 'contact closure' terminals are provided for remote control muting. On/Off muting prevents power cycling noises.
