Showcase AMX - advanced control and automation technology Founded in 1982, AMX Corporation, a subsidiary of Duchossois Industries, Inc., is a worldwide leader in advanced control and automation technology for commercial and residential markets. AMX products enable users to centrally manage and control a variety of audio/video, environmental and communications technologies. The company's advanced hardware and software platforms also provide the capability to store and distribute digital content, as well as to manage a selection of resources and services.
Product Range The main AMX product range comprises the Modero range of intuitive touch panel user interfaces, Mio remote controls and keypads, Netlinx controllers, MAX content servers, AutoPatch professional matrix switchers, Endeleo media distribution products, and the Matrix audio controller line.
The Modero range of touch screen panels deliver a simple-to-use interface for controlling any AMX system. Icon-based menus effortlessly guide the user through the control options, regardless of the size and complexity of the control system. The range comprises widescreen and conventional screen formats in various sizes, along with the option of hard-wired and wireless options. Hard-wired panels can also accept video feeds to their screens, doubling as high quality televisions or CCTV monitors. A single touch returns the screen display to its control panel layout or both TV and touch controls can be displayed simultaneously. Equipped with microphone and speakers, Modero panels can also be used as a complete communications facility, enabling the touch panel to fulfil the role of a hands-free telephone, while simultaneously providing access to the Internet, sending/receiving emails and operating networked PCs. A recent addition to the range is Modero panels with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) capability, enabling the units to be used as an intercom or company-wide paging facility.
AMX's R-Series Remote Controls provide handheld control of one room installations to large multi-location installations in a sleek, stylish and slim form factor. Remote controls are available in IR, one-way RF and two-way RF signal transmissions for in-room or room-to-room control. The Mio Modero keypad series includes four models - Classic, Prestige, Elite and Attaché - offering the versatility to address a range of control needs, from simple to multi-function.
The NetLinx 'NI series' of integrated controllers provides the intelligent link between the touch panel user interface, remote control or keypad and the electronic equipment being controlled. Utilising powerful processors, running tailored software programs, the NI controllers will interface with and control virtually any electrically-operated device in a commercial or residential environment. Offering a variety of input and output ports, NetLinx controllers can be used over common communication networks, including Ethernet and the Internet (using TCP/IP protocols). The NI series comprises five versions (NI 700, 900, 2100, NI 3100, NI 4100), delivering control configurations ranging from a single room/home requirement to multi-room/site applications.
The MAX product line of integrated content servers is designed to store, manage and distribute audio and video content. MAX allows users to build and control a library of up to 900 DVDs or 22,500 CDs with ease, and to instantly play the stored media in its native format, simultaneously into multiple integrated environments.
The Matrix Audio Controller line includes two product families - the Delta Series and the Mi Series. The Delta Series is an affordable, multi-zone audio distribution system that can control and distribute audio from as many as six sources sources - from AM/FM tuners and satellite receivers to CD an MP3 players - and up to six zones, while the Mi Series is a customisable system that is tailored to meet the unique needs of each homeowner. It is available in four and eight source varieties and can support up to 64 zones. Both product families integrate an audio controller, switcher and amplifier in one device. The Mi Series offers optional Audio Zone Expanders to increase the number of zones in which to distribute audio.
Endeleo Distributed Media products consolidate, switch, and distribute television and other audio/video media over easily-installed, dedicated Cat5/5e/6 cable. Media can be delivered at lengths of up to 3,000 feet, to thousands of display devices, such as TVs, LCDs, plasma screens or computers. Multiple Endeleo products can be linked together to provide even more advanced distribution options, offering scalability to a variety of customers. Endeleo's managed television distribution system, the TVM1600, is a fully configurable, multi-standard TV transmission system capable of supporting up to 192 channels per display connection. The company's multi-format video distribution system, the UDM1604, delivers any combination of video and audio formats, including Component, Composite, VGA, S-Video and RGB.
AutoPatch professional matrix switchers are designed to route any source signal to any combination of destinations, while maintaining the original signal quality. The extensive AutoPatch product line ranges from standard to expandable semi-modular and custom-configurable matrix switchers. Its solutions can route and distribute composite and/or component video, High Definition Television (HDTV), Standard Definition Serial Digital Interface (SD-SDI), High Definition Serial Digital Interface (HD-SDI) and Digital Visual Interface (DVI), as well as mono, stereo and digital audio. The company's products communicate over coax, Cat 5 cable or fibre and span configurations from as small as 4x4 to as large as 256x256.
